Deadline-driven work
WNY RPM Solution manages lead paint violations for rental owners across Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Erie County. We read the order, scope the correction, do the work lead safe, and manage it through to clearance.
It is the process of taking a lead paint order issued against a rental property and resolving it before the deadline. That means reading the citation, scoping every cited component, performing the correction using lead-safe practices, and assembling the documentation the health department needs to close the file.
Most of Buffalo and Niagara Falls housing predates 1978, so most of it has lead paint somewhere. Owners do not usually get into trouble for having it. They get into trouble for what happens after the letter arrives: three weeks lost finding a contractor, then a contractor who is not certified, then a correction that does not clear.
Process
Which components are cited, what standard applies, what the deadline actually is, and whether an extension is realistic. Most owners misread at least one of these.
Component by component, in writing. You see the number before anything begins, and you know which items are mandatory and which are advisable.
Containment, correct removal or stabilisation methods, HEPA cleaning and proper waste handling. Performed by the same company that scoped it, through our general contracting side.
Photographs, records and clearance paperwork assembled and submitted so the file closes rather than reopening in six months.
If the property stays under our management, the conditions that generated the order get inspected for, so the next tenant does not generate the next notice.
Pricing
Priced from the actual order, because two lead notices on the same street can differ by an order of magnitude.
Lead projects are run on three tiers, the same way asbestos projects are. The fee covers running the job: scoping the order, coordinating the work, documenting it and getting it through to clearance.

Read the deadline on the order, then get the scope priced immediately. Lead orders from the county health department carry fixed timeframes and penalties for missing them. Call WNY RPM Solution on 716-237-0071 with the notice in front of you and the correction can be scoped the same week.
Penalties are tied to missing the deadline or failing to correct the condition, not to the violation existing. Owners who move quickly and document the work properly generally resolve it. Owners who ignore the notice or use an uncertified contractor make it considerably worse.
It depends on how many components are cited and whether the unit is occupied. A small number of window and trim components can move quickly. A whole-unit order takes longer. The controlling factor is usually how fast the work starts, not how long it takes to do.
No. Work disturbing lead paint in pre-1978 housing must be performed using lead-safe practices by an appropriately certified firm, and the documentation matters as much as the work. Using an uncertified contractor can leave the violation unresolved and the owner exposed.
The cost of a lead order goes up the longer it sits. Call with the notice in front of you.
