- Put it in writing. Text or email your landlord, describe the problem and the date. Keep the copy. Verbal requests disappear when it matters.
- Photograph everything. Date-stamped photographs of the condition, repeatedly over time if it continues.
- Contact code enforcement. Heat, water, structural safety and working smoke detectors are habitability matters your city can act on.
- Keep paying rent unless advised otherwise. Withholding rent without following the correct process can put your tenancy at risk. Get advice first.

My landlord will not fix the heat. What can I do?
